None of this should be a surprise. Johnny's been a musical genius for a long time and everyone's just been sleeping on him. Go back to Jaguar Shark and explore his discography. Every single thing is beautiful in its own way.

I feel like this gets some of the Attack Attack! history wrong? Johnny leaving was "the true end of Attack Attack!" ? I'm not a huge fan of "This Means War" (the post Johnny album) but it sold more copies and charted higher than the self-titled album with Johnny, the true end of AA! was probably Caleb leaving, they initially tied to get a replacement vocalist Phil Druyor from I Am Abomination, then decided to change their name to Nativ, then decided to scrap the whole thing. You can find most of those songs online "No Defeat" was initially released as AA! but then changed to being a Nativ song. So far AA! has only released one studio album post-Johnny not a couple. The scene wasn't on the way out when Johnny left in 2010, Bring Me The Horizon didn't release Sempiternal until 2013, if you look at Warped Tour line ups, 2014 is the seemingly the final year for most of the Rise-Records core style groups headling. "These releases showcased Franck's willingness to experiment blending heavy riffs with unexpected electronic elements and catchy melodies the music was raw and energetic reflecting Franck's newfound creative freedom after leaving Attack Attack!" Johnny did those things in AA! he wasn't free to do them because he left. AA!'s 2010 self-titled is heavy riffs with unexpected electronic elements and catchy riffs because Johnny was the drivinig force of the band, you can tell because once he left the next album was a much more straight forward metalcore release. Check the tracks "Fumbles O'Brian", "Smokahontas", and "Turbo Swag" from ST. Banana (2017) got glossed over here. Jaguar Shark through Frame are all pretty non-experimental releases, and I don't think really did set the groundwork for anything Bilmuri is now. "Aqua" off of Banana is where Bilmuri started to do something different, he's got his vocoded vocals, huge chorus, synth bass and some 80's inspired guitar work. The March Ahead didn't get mentioned but that is basically more Bilmuri - Johnny Franck + Mike Caswell.

I’ve had some realllly tough times this year. Bilmuri is one of the big things that got me though it, and even helped reconnect my most important relationship. This is imo the best band in the world rn.
